Osun Election: I would’ve been there if Tinubu wanted APC to win at all costs — Wike
by Matthew Atungwu · Daily PostThe Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, says he would have been in Osun State to help secure victory for the All Progressives Congress, APC, if President Bola Tinubu had wanted the party to win the governorship election.
The minister made the claim on Tuesday while inspecting flood-prone areas in Abuja.

According to him, President Tinubu could have secured victory for the APC if he had decided to pursue the election at all costs.
“If the President had wanted to win the Osun State election at all costs, I would have been there and we would have won it, and there’s nothing the governor can do,” he said.
DAILY POST reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, declared Governor Ademola Adeleke as winner of the August 15, 2026 election after defeating his closest rival, the All Progressives Congress, APC candidate, Bola Oyebamiji.
Adeleke won 19 Local Government Areas with 511,067 votes to defeat Oyebamiji who won 11 Local Government Areas with 444,815 votes.
