‘A dangerous signal’ – Iran warns Israel, US over violation of ceasefire agreement
by John Owen Nwachukwu · Daily PostIran has characterized the Israeli strikes on Lebanon as a flagrant breach of the ceasefire agreement.
Iranian President, Masoud Pezeshkian, stated that Israel’s ongoing attacks on Iran would “render negotiations meaningless.”
A translation of his remarks on X indicates that he stated, “Israel’s renewed incursion into Lebanon constitutes a blatant violation of the original ceasefire agreement.
“This represents a perilous indication of deceit and a lack of commitment to possible agreements.
“The persistence of these actions will make negotiations futile. Our fingers remain on the trigger. Iran will never forsake its Lebanese sisters and brothers.”
The United States and Israel have asserted that the two-week ceasefire does not apply to Lebanon.
Iran and Pakistan, who facilitated the ceasefire, assert that Lebanon is included.
