Rivers crisis: ‘They landed me love letter’ – Gov Fubara rubbishes impeachment notice
by Ochogwu Sunday · Daily PostRivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara has described the impeachment notice issued to him by the Rivers State House of Assembly as a love letter.
DAILY POST recalls that the assembly recently issued an impeachment notice to the governor and his deputy, Ngozi Odu following alleged gross misconduct by the Fubara’s administration.
Despite an interim order by the Rivers State High Court, stopping the process, the assembly on Friday said the state Chief Judge has received and acknowledged the impeachment notice.
Addressing his supporters during the grand finale of the week-long 2026 NPA Port Harcourt International Polo Tournament, the governor said he was landed a love letter.
He, however, expressed his determination not to be distracted by the political occurrences, saying that his administration will continue to support those that mean well for the state.
He said, “I thought 2026 would be the finest but they just landed me a love letter.
“But that, not withstanding, we must carry out our responsibility as government and we will continue to support everyone who means well for Rivers State”.
