PFIPC fraud: Invite Gbajabiamila, treat him like El-Rufai – Atiku’s aide to DSS, EFCC, others
by Oluwaseun Taiwo · Daily PostDemola Olarenwaju, Senior Political Assistant to the African Democratic Congress, ADC, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has said the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, the Department of State Services, DSS, and other security agencies should invite President Bola Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, over his alleged involvement in the supposed Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council, which is led by Adeyemi Adeyemo.
Olarenwaju said the EFCC, DSS, and other security agencies should call Gbajabiamila in and treat him the same way they treated former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai.
Posting on X, Olarenwaju said Gbajabiamila should step down while an investigation is conducted.
On June 11, 2026, Gbajabiamila said he didn’t know Adeyemi when he introduced himself as the Director General of PFIPC, which he said didn’t exist.
Gbajabiamila said he asked security agencies in October 2025 after fake appointment letters were discovered, and Adeyemi was later taken to the Federal High Court and charged with forgery, impersonation, and getting something through false pretenses.
Adeyemi rejected all the accusations against him and stated he was prepared to prove his innocence in court.
President Bola Tinubu asked for an independent investigation and also decided to look into the claims.
However, Olarenwaju wrote: “Gbajabiamila cannot stay in his position as Chief of Staff to the President while being investigated by an independent agencies that still need presidential orders to carry out their work.
“Gbaja and his accomplices should be suspended until the investigation is completed. Bola Tinubu’s hesitation to fire or even temporarily remove Gbajabiamila shows that he was completely involved in the whole corrupt operation and not just an innocent person who signed a document without reading it.
“I wasn’t surprised that ICPC, along with EFCC, DSS, and other security and investigation agencies didn’t take immediate action on the #GbajaGate before Tinubu gave a directive.
“They should invite Gbajabiamila and treat him exactly the same way they have treated El-Rufai so far.”
