Katsina Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has arrested 2,088 criminal suspects and recovered more than N56.6 million during 2025, the State Commandant, Mr Abbas Moriki, has disclosed.

Speaking to newsmen on Tuesday in Katsina, Moriki said the arrests were made across 4,230 cases handled by the command, including 93 suspects for vandalism, 942 for theft, 272 for possession of illicit drugs, and 26 for assault.

An additional 755 individuals were apprehended for other offences, such as breach of trust and thuggery.

He further revealed that the command successfully resolved 4,767 disputes through Alternative Dispute Resolution, ADR, with 1,158 cases still undergoing the process.

“A total of 43 cases are at various stages of prosecution in courts, while 577 judgments were secured by the command during the year,” Moriki said.

The commandant noted that financial recoveries amounted to N56,630,800 alongside the retrieval of various exhibits, including vandalised properties, bales of insecticide-treated mosquito nets, vehicles, motorcycles, bags of cannabis, and assorted illicit drugs and substances.

Moriki credited the success to the commitment of personnel and strong collaboration with stakeholders and other security agencies.

He also commended the state government for its support and journalists for ensuring timely dissemination of security information.

He urged members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities or items to the NSCDC.
