Osun election proves Nigerians have rejected APC – Adebutu
by Gift Oba · Daily PostThe Ogun State governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for the 2027 election, Oladipupo Adebutu, has said the outcome of the Osun governorship election is proof that Nigerians have lost confidence in the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
Adebutu stated this on Sunday in a congratulatory message to the Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, on his re-election.

Recall that the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC, Returning Officer, Prof Joshua Ogunwole, who is also the Vice Chancellor, Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti State, declared him winner of the poll at about 7:24 am on Sunday.
The incumbent govenor who contested on the platform of the Accord Party polled a total of 51, 067 votes, defeating his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress.
Declaring the results, Ogunwole said, “Accredited voters, 1010684, total votes received by political parties, A, 511067, AA, 2308, AAC, 1458, ADC, 17180, ADP, 2946, APC, 444815, APGA, 1475, APM, 234, APP, 114, BP, 111, NNPP, 118, PRP, 83, SDP, 155, YPP, 534, ZLP, 2482, total valid votes, 985079, rejected votes, 207, total vote cast, 1,005,800.”
Adebutu, in a statement signed by his media aide, Afolabi Orekoya, chieftain described Adeleke’s victory as a validation of the people’s will and a reward for pro-people governance.
He noted that Adeleke’s performance in Osun represents what Nigerians truly desire from their leaders; good governance and empathy for the masses.
He said, “I heartily congratulate my brother, Governor Ademola Adeleke, for proving that when the people stand firmly behind a leader, no force can subvert their will.
“Adeleke’s strides in Osun are a testament to what the people really need. It is a beacon of hope and a clear indicator that the will of the people will always triumph over political deceit,” he added.
