World Cup: ‘Only a mad person underestimates Messi’ — El-Rufai’s son predicts Argentina Vs France final

by · Daily Post

A member of the House of Representatives from Kaduna North and Chairman, Committee on Banking Regulations, Muhammed Bello El-Rufai, has expressed support for Argentina to retain the FIFA World Cup title, predicting a repeat of the previous World Cup final against France.

The remarks were contained in a statement posted on his official social media page, where he shared his views on the ongoing FIFA World Cup and some of the tournament’s leading teams and players.

According to Bello El-Rufai, although he generally supports African countries at the World Cup, he chose to back Argentina in the current tournament despite Egypt’s participation.

“I always side with African teams in World Cup tournaments, except when it is under extreme circumstances. The case of South Africa is a case in point.”

“I adore Lionel Messi and always loved Argentina while growing up. Never wasted my time debating about him and Ronaldo. Two eternal legends. My preference is Messi. I am just privileged I got to watch them perform in my time. Not every generation gets that chance.”

“In this match, since Messi has already won a World Cup, I wished Mohammed Salah got his nation over the line as an LFC fan for 30 years. But only a mad person or a Cristiano stan underestimates the damage Lionel Messi can do in a few minutes.”

“The powers that be will be happy with this comeback. Marketing, sponsorship and more dollars. Kudos to Egypt. But football is a cruel game. I stand by my prediction, we could get an Argentina versus France final for the second year running. England and Spain to clinch third and fourth place.”
