The development project near the site of the gas pipeline fire at Putra Heights received legal approval in 2022, said Subang Jaya Mayor Datuk Amirul Azizan Abd Rahim
According to Bernama, Amirul Azizan clarified that the project, involving the construction of shop lots, is currently in its final phase of securing a Certificate of Completion and Compliance (CCC).
Addressing speculation on social media, he said the project had obtained all necessary permits in accordance with regulations.
"The project was initially scheduled for completion in December last year but faced some delays due to the CCC approval process," he told reporters today, 2 April.
He further explained that the project had obtained approval from PETRONAS, and the contractor handling the work is recognised by the relevant authorities
"PETRONAS granted permission for the use of its Right-of-Way (ROW) for the installation of Indah Water Konsortium (IWK) pipelines. However, the project itself is not within the ROW," he said.
Amirul Azizan added that the cause of the fire remains uncertain as investigations by PETRONAS, the police, and other agencies are still ongoing
"At this stage, any claims spreading online should not be taken as official. We will leave it to the investigating agencies to determine the facts," he said.
