Man charged after alleged assault of three gardaí in Newbridge

A MAN ASSAULTED three gardaí as they tried to arrest him in Newbridge, Co Kildare, on Monday evening, a garda spokesperson has said.

The gardaí were on patrol in the town when they arrested the man.

“During the course of the interaction, the man in his 30s became violent and assaulted three members of An Garda Síochána,” the spokesperson said.

The gardaí later received medical treatment in hospital.

The man was detained at a garda station in Co Kildare.

He has since been charged was due to appear before Naas District Court this morning.
