Balogun, a computer science student originally from Nigeria who was living in Co Louth, died after being seriously injured during an attack near Grafton Street in Dublin.
He had been attending a late-night performance by Nigerian artist Famous Pluto at Bewley’s Café before the incident.
He was taken to St James’s Hospital after emergency services responded to reports of an assault at around 3am, but later died from his injuries.
Gardaí have previously said they are examining CCTV footage, witness statements and forensic evidence, including analysis of a knife recovered near the scene.
A number of other arrests have been made during the course of the investigation, including a man in his 20s who appeared in court today charged with violent disorder connected to the attack on Balogun and assaults on two other people. He was granted bail.
Another suspect, a woman in her 20s, was arrested on Wednesday in connection with the investigation, but was released without charge.
