Liveblog: Trump set to land in Ireland ahead of two-day, golf-heavy visit

AIR FORCE ONE is currently flying eastwards over the Atlantic Ocean ahead of the arrival of US President Donald Trump at Dublin Airport, sometime around 8am. 

Trump has a somewhat condensed schedule in Dublin as he is understood to be keen to hightail it over to Co Clare for the Irish Open golf tournament, which is taking place at his property in Doonbeg. 

Before that, Trump does have separate brief meetings with President Catherine Connolly and Taoiseach Micheál Martin. Protests are planned in Dublin against his visit.
