Trump vows ‘NO MORE ATTACKS’ on Iran gas field, but warns US could ‘blow up’ site if Qatar hit again

US PRESIDENT DONALD Trump has said Israel will carry out no further strikes on Iran’s key South Pars gas field, while warning the US could “massively blow up” the site if Iran attacks Qatar again.

In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump claimed Washington “knew nothing” about Israel’s earlier strike on the South Pars gas field, which forms part of one of the world’s largest natural gas reserves.

He said Israel had “violently lashed out” and struck a “relatively small section” of the site, adding that there would be no more attacks unless Iran targets Qatari energy infrastructure again.

“If that happens, the United States… will massively blow up the entirety of the South Pars Gas Field,” Trump warned, saying he would not hesitate despite concerns about the long-term consequences.

The comments come as the nearly three-week conflict continues to escalate, with Iran launching missile and drone attacks across the Gulf in response to US and Israeli strikes.

Qatar said Iranian missiles hit its Ras Laffan liquefied natural gas facilities, causing fires and what officials described as “extensive damage”.

Firefighters were working to contain the blazes, though no injuries have been reported so far.

Other Gulf states have also reported attacks on energy infrastructure. Saudi Arabia said it intercepted drones targeting gas facilities, while the United Arab Emirates condemned strikes on sites in Abu Dhabi as a “dangerous escalation”.

The conflict is increasingly rattling global energy markets.

Oil prices have surged amid fears of disruption to supplies, particularly as tensions threaten shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, a key route for about a fifth of the world’s oil and gas.

There have also been multiple attacks on commercial vessels in the region, with more than 20 ships hit since the war began.

One vessel was set on fire off the coast of the UAE after being struck by an unknown projectile.

Despite heavy strikes on its military leadership, Iran has continued to launch attacks across the region.

Its new supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei has vowed retaliation, saying “every drop of spilled blood comes at a price”.

Falling shrapnel struck a hair salon in the West Bank town of Beit Awa near Hebron late yesterday, killing the three women, according to the Palestine Red Crescent Society, marking the first Palestinian deaths from Iranian attacks in the ongoing Middle East war.

The victims include 17-year-old Mays Ghazi Masalmeh, according to the official Palestinian news agency, Wafa.

The Red Crescent said at least eight others were wounded, including one woman in critical condition.

Wafa reported that the salon had been set up in a metal caravan next to a house.

The news agency said missile fragments landed in multiple locations across the West Bank, including within the city of Hebron, after Israel’s military reported another round of Iranian missile launches.
