Drone activity halts air traffic again at Brussels airport
by AFP, https://www.thejournal.ie/author/afp/ · TheJournal.ieAIR TRAFFIC WAS briefly interrupted again at Brussels international airport this evening due to the presence of a nearby drone, an air traffic control spokeswoman told AFP.
Flights were disrupted for half an hour from 9.23pm (8.23pm Irish time) before normal operations were resumed, said the spokeswoman for Skeyes.
Drone sightings also caused air traffic to be halted twice late on Tuesday after drones were spotted near the same airport in Brussels, as well as at another in Liege.

Just this morning, Belgium’s Prime Minister Bart De Wever convened an emergency meeting of the national security council to discuss the disruptions.
They come after a recent spate of mysterious drone incidents targeting airports and sensitive military locations in several European countries, including Germany, Denmark, Norway and Poland.
Last weekend, Belgian authorities reported drone activity over the Kleine-Brogel military base, where a number of US nuclear weapons are believed to be stored.
Belgian military intelligence said it was conducting an investigation into the sightings.
