FromSoftware fans are sure to be putting a Switch 2 on their Christmas wish lists this year, as the studio has just announced a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive game, The Duskbloods. This title is another multiplayer foray for the studio, described as a PvPvE style game, and is set to launch in 2026.

The Duskbloods seems to delve into vampiric mythos to the extent that you might think this was some kind of Castlevania tie in, but it is instead an original property once more. THere’s a definite gothic Britain appearance to the game as well, which is sure to lure in Bloodborne fans.

The intriguing aspect is that this is described as a multiplayer game, first and foremost. You can see the myriad characters and styles that you migth be able to adopt.

Update: Per a press release, The Duskbloods “is a PvPvE title with online multiplayer at its core, where up to 8 players vie for supremacy among themselves and against challenging foes.”

A deep dive article with Hidetaka Miyazaki will be published on 4th April to give more details on the game’s world and gameplay. How’s he going to explain that jet pack and the very Majora’s Mask-y moon face?

In other FromSoftware news, the studio’s latest and greatest is also coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in 2025 with Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition. This is an all-in-one version of the game that features both the base game of Elden Ring, as well as the big DLC expansion Shadow of the Erdtree.

In addition to this core content, the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Elden Ring will debut new armour, weapons and customisation for Torrent’s appearance. This will also be added to other versions of the game on other platforms.

Writing of Elden Ring, Jason, one of our resident Soulslike experts, said, “Elden Ring is the game Souls fans have been waiting for. From the open world design, to riding into battle on Torrent’s back, and the dark narrative woven through the world, this is a clear Game of the Year frontrunner that will have us all ensnared for a long time to come.”

Of course, if multiplayer is the base of The Duskbloods, then perhaps Elden Ring: Nightreign might be another point of comparison? That game, though, is a cooperative experience, set to launch in May.
