PlayStation State of Play returns on 2nd June with Wolverine for Summer Game Fest

Sony has announced that the State of Play stream will return on 2nd June, bringing 60 minutes of updates, announcements and gameplay, just ahead of the official start of Summer Game Fest a few days later.

The stream will take place on 2nd June at 2:00pm PT / 5:00pm ET / 11:00pm CEST | 3rd June at 6:00am JST, and can be watched via YouTube or Twitch.

The stream will start with a closer look at Marvel’s Wolverine from Insomniac Games, who will show off more of the third-person action. In particular, fans of the forgetful, metal-filled mutant will want to see the game’s brutal take on combat ahead of its launch on 15th September, exclusively for PlayStation 5.

Though not explicitly confirmed for the show, Wolverine might feature a second time in footage for Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls which is coming out in August.

Aside from that? Well, there’s no hints from Sony, but we’d hope for signs of life from Fairgames, and an update on co-op shooter 4:Loop, to see what remains of Sony’s live service strategy play itself out. And then, I guess you just keep an eye out for leaks if you want spoilers, or try to avoid leaks if you don’t.

Outside of Sony’s stable, Summer Game Fest itself will kick off on 5th June with Geoff Keighley hosting his summer showcase once more. It will be immediately followed by Day of the Devs for a curated selection of indie games, while the Xbox Showcase will take place on 7th June and feature an in-depth dive into Gears of War: E-Day.
