Professor Ashim Kumar Ghosh appointed Governor of Haryana

by The Hindu Bureau · The HinduPresident Droupadi Murmu on Monday (July 14, 2025) appointed Professor Ashim Kumar Ghosh as the Governor for Haryana, according to a press release from the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh joined the BJP in 1991 and was appointed as the West Bengal BJP president from 1999–2002. He will takeover as Governor from Bandaru Dattatreya, who held the position since July 7, 2021.
Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju was also appointed as Governor of Goa, and Kavinder Gupta was appointed as Lieutenant Governor for Ladakh, the release added.
The release also stated that the above appointments will take effect from the dates they assume charge of their respective offices.
