Cong. MP Chamala alleges BRS involvement in agitation against ethanol factory in Nirmal
by The Hindu Bureau · The HinduCongress MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy has accused the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) of hypocrisy over the setting up ethanol factory in Dilawarpur, Nirmal district. He claimed that the factory is owned by members of the BRS and questioned the party’s stance on the issue.
In a press release on Wednesday, the Bhongir MP alleged that the BRS government in 2022 granted permission for the ethanol factory despite opposition from farmers. The factory, being set up by PMK Distillations Pvt Ltd, reportedly sought environmental clearances in January 2023. The MP further claimed that the company was linked to former BRS MLA and former minister.
“Who gave permission for the ethanol factory, and who is its real owner?” questioned Reddy, accusing the BRS government of granting approvals in 2022 purely to benefit its leaders. He also alleged that the BRS, now in opposition, is attempting to deflect blame onto the Congress government while misleading the public. “The BRS’s so-called support for farmers is hypocritical. They allowed the factory despite farmers’ protests. Now, their social media machinery, led by KCR and KTR, is trying to shift the blame,” he said.
