431 kg ganja seized, man from Odisha arrested in ASR district

Pedabayalu police arrested a 38-year-old man from Odisha while he was allegedly transporting 431 kg ganja at Sampangiputtu village in Alluri Sitharama Raju district on Saturday.

Upon credible information, a team led by Sub-Inspector K. Ramana, conducted vehicle checking at Sampangiputtu Junction, where they intercepted a vehicle and recovered the ganja. The police said that the person was transporting the ganja towards Odisha via Rudakota area.

In the last two days, the Pedabayalu police have seized around 829 kg ganja, said to be valued at ₹80 lakh.

Cases were registered.
