Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge launch scheduled next week in India, to sport 200 MP camera

With the Galaxy S25 Edge, the South Korean electronics major aims to push for a portable and lightweight design phone infused with gen AI capabilities

Samsung on Thursday (May 8, 2025) formally announced the launch of Galaxy S25 Edge for India and global regions. The new Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge fits into the recently launched Galaxy S25 series with phones like Galaxy S25 Ultra, Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25.

With the Galaxy S25 Edge, the South Korean electronics major aims to push for a portable and lightweight design phone infused with gen AI capabilities.

“The latest addition to the Galaxy S series is both a powerful AI companion and an engineering marvel, merging flagship-level performance with superior portability,” said Samsung.

Samsung has confirmed to use the 200 MP main camera in the Galaxy S25 Edge, which is also present in Galaxy S25 Ultra. It will leverage AI to offer users various generative things with the lens.

It is expected that Galaxy S25 Edge will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor with up to 12 GB RAM and 512 GB storage. One UI 7.0 is likely based upon Android 15 out of the box.

Samsung is rumoured to ship a 5,000 mAh battery in the Galaxy S25 Edge with charging support up to 25 W.

Galaxy S25 Edge might have a 6.5 inch AMOLED display with 2,600 nits peak brightness and a 120 Hz refresh rate.

Samsung will launch the Galaxy S25 Edge on May 13 at 5:30 AM in India. Being a premium phone, the Galaxy S25 Edge is likely to have a 90k and above price bracket.
