Pawan Kalyan tweeted on Friday (April 4, 2025) that the passage of the Wakf Amendment Bill in both the Houses of Parliament was not merely a Parliamentary achievement but a historic step towards justice, transparency and accountability.

What are the key changes proposed in the new Waqf Bill? | Explained
Lack of transparency, property mismanagement and subsidies not reaching the targeted recipients, notably those living in poverty in the Muslim community, have been serious problems.
The Wakf (Amendment) Bill was a significant step towards addressing the challenges faced by the Wakf Boards, and it would bring in the much-needed transparency in their affairs. This would ensure that the Wakf benefits reach the impoverished Muslims and provide Muslim women representation on the Boards.
Mr. Kalyan said the Bill was thoroughly debated for about 12 hours in the Lok Sabha and 14 hours in the Rajya Sabha (RS).
“The concerns raised by the Opposition were fully addressed. This is how a responsible and Constitutionally committed government should function,” he stated, thanking Minister of Parliamentary Affairs & Minority Welfare Kiren Rijiju, Home Minister Amit Shah and NDA Leader in the Rajya Sabha J.P. Nadda for presenting and guiding this important Bill.
