Kejriwal seeks PM Modi’s nod for 50% metro fare cut for Delhi students

by The Hindu Bureau · The HinduAAP chief Arvind Kejriwal on Friday (January 17, 2025) proposed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi implement a 50% concession for students using the Delhi Metro.
“To reduce the financial burden on students, I propose to give 50% concession to students in Delhi Metro. Delhi Metro is a 50:50 joint project between the Delhi Government and the Central Government. Therefore, the expenditure on this should be borne equally by Delhi Government and Central Government,” Mr. Kejriwal said in a letter written in Hindi to the Prime Minister on January 17.
“On our part, we are planning to make bus travel completely free for students. I sincerely hope that you will agree with this proposal,” he said.
