by The Hindu Bureau · The HinduPrime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday (January 22, 2025) asked BJP workers to ensure that every booth got record voting for the BJP and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was defeated in the Delhi Assembly elections. He was addressing the Delhi BJP cadre in an interactive webcast under the “Mera Booth Sabse Majboot” programme.
The Prime Minister listed the failures of the AAP-led Delhi government in the past 10 years, as well as the achievements of the BJP-led Central government. He said all the existing schemes in the capital would be implemented
Mr. Modi said: “The strength of the organisation in Delhi is that there are three generations of workers at every booth. This power will give the BJP a huge victory. Your hard work at the booth is going to be a huge win. The workers of the country have been learning by watching the workers of Delhi. Also, the victory will break all the polling records this time”
Delhi polls are slated for February 5 and the results will be declared on February 8. The BJP is trying hard to defeat the incumbent AAP government to form government in the capital after nearly 28 years.
Mr. Modi asked party workers to expose the lies of the AAP. “Delhi must be freed from the disaster party”. He said the AAP was making new announcements every day because it knew that it would be defeated in the polls.
He said the people of Delhi remembered the deceptions of the AAP; the party built Sheesh Mahal and ate poor people’s money, and committed scams with no shame.
Purvanchal voters
Appealing to voters from Purvanchal, the Prime Minister said the AAP was full of hatred for them, and Purvanchalis were driven out of Delhi during COVID. And even during the Chhath Pooja, visuals of the Yamuna river in Delhi sent shockwaves to the country, he said.
After a BJP worker spoke about water shortage, Mr. Modi said, “alcohol is available in Delhi but not water”
During the live event, Mr. Modi, while interacting with a woman party worker through webcast, said the promises that the AAP and the Congress were making were unbelievable. The women did not believe in the AAP and the Congress anymore. The women of Himachal Pradesh were struggling. In Punjab, the AAP had promised women money, but nothing happened.
