It hovers for about 20 minutes, police take up investigation following a complaint

The staff of the Jana Sena Party (JSP) president and Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan’s camp office near Mangalagiri raised an alarm as a drone hovered above it for about 20 minutes on Saturday.

On spotting the device, they informed the offices of the Director General of Police (DGP) and the Guntur district Collector and Superintendent of Police.

A JSP staffer told The Hindu that the incident was immediately taken to the notice of the DGP and the district administration for a probe and to take precautionary measures. The police started investigating the origins of the drone and inspected the CCTV footage for identifying those who flew it.

The safety of Mr. Kalyan has been a matter of concern ever since a fake IPS officer was found moving close to him during his visit to the north coastal districts a few days back. The issue was therefore taken seriously.
