BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Chris McCausland 'so glad' over Dianne Buswell move after tearful appearance

by · Manchester Evening News

Chris McCausland has shared why he is 'so glad' after it was revealed he and dance partner Dianne Buswell had made it through to another week on Strictly Come Dancing.

It comes after the pair were back for week five of the BBC One dance contest on Saturday night (October 19) with the remaining 12 pairs hitting the dance floor to dazzle the judges and viewers with hopes of making it through to next weekend's Halloween special.

There were emotional scenes as comedian Chris and Dianne took to the dancefloor to perform a moving waltz to the Liverpool anthem You'll Never Walk Alone, in a nod to the comedian's beloved home city and football club.

The tear-jerking rotuine, which saw Dianne leave Chris on the dance floor for an incredible solo section, went down a storm in the studio with the audience giving them a standing ovation and the judges, including Shirley Ballas who needed a minute to gather herself.

The judges - Shirley, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke - awarded Chris and Dianne 35 out of a possible 40 points, their highest score of the series so far.

It was then during Sunday night's (October 20) results show that it was confirmed Chris and Dianne had made it through to week six of Strictly's 20th-anniversary series, which will see a bunch of spooktacular performances for the show's annual Halloween special.

Following the news they were remaining in the competition for another week, Dianne took to Instagram with snaps of herself and Chris during their moving performance this weekend.
