ITV I'm A Celebrity's Alan Halsall earns same praise over Coronation Street confession

Alan Halsall has impressed I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here viewers as he made a confession about his time on Coronation Street. The actor recently swapped the cobbles for the jungle, taking part in the ITV reality show this year.

His stint Down Under is actually a year late as Alan, who is famed for playing Tyrone Dobbs in the ITV soap, was due to take part in I'm A Celeb's 2023 series before he had to undergo surgery. An ACL injury put him out of action and into regular rehab to recover.

Alan recently said: "It was a bit of a shock when I got the knee injury last year and whilst I am signed off surgically, I still had several months of physio ahead of me. But a top football professional like Rodri, for example, would take about a year to get back to playing football (after something like I’ve had) and he has the best medical staff in the world. So for your average Joe like me it is going to take longer."

But he's since been seen settling into jungle life and winning much support from viewers. It was then during Wednesday night's (November 27) instalment of I'm A Celeb that Alan won more praise as he spoke about his daughter's thoughts about his job on Corrie, which he's held for an impressive 26 years.

Alan talked to his campmates about his 11-year-old daughter Sienna wanting to follow in his and his ex-wife, former Corrie and Hollyoaks star Lucy-Jo Hudson's footsteps. He said: "It's hard for your kids to grow up and see a successful father and not want to go for that... My little girl's got myself and her mum so she wants to be an actor.

He then referred to WAG Coleen Rooney as an example, who shares four sons with former footballer-turned-manager Wayne Rooney. Alan said: "She's got four lads who play football. Sienna says to me, 'Your job is so easy. If you get it wrong, you just do it again. On stage, I can't get it wrong.'

"But I treat my work like that, I only get one shot at this!" Alan then went on to explain his unique approach to learning his lines: "Driving to work in the morning, when I get my script, I just go like that and that's it! Let's say I've got ten scenes on a Thursday, I can't learn Thursday's on Tuesday's because I might have ten scenes on Wednesday so I've got to get through Wednesday before I can learn Thursday's and then it just happened like that. So now I just learn it in the morning!"

McFly star Danny Jones was completely in awe of Alan's technique, expressing his admiration by saying: "It's amazing he can do it like that... it takes me years to learn my lyrics. To be able to do that is some talent!" And viewers watching at home were also impressed.
