BBC Strictly Come Dancing star in 'worrying spot' after major competition change
by Jessica Sansome · Manchester Evening NewsOne Strictly Come Dancing star is said to be in a 'worrying spot' after a major change to his time in the competition. JB Gill should be riding high after getting his highest score to date in the BBC One dance contest last weekend.
However, the JLS star faced a tricky week after being forced to rehearse without Amy Dowden after she "fell ill" following their Halloween week performance at the end of last month.
Professional dancer Lauren Oakley stepped in to train and perform with him last Saturday night (November 2) after Amy had to take time out to rest.

It was JB and Lauren who ended up performing the planned couple's choice routine to a Bruno Mars medley during Strictly's first-ever 'Icons Week', which saw the pair bag JB's first 10s of the series, resulting in a near-perfect score of 39 out of a possible 40 points.
But Amy's future in the hit dance show this year was confirmed during Monday night's (November 4) edition of Strictly spin-off It Takes Two where it was revealed she was having to withdraw from the 2024 series.
Host Fleur East read out a statement from a Strictly Come Dancing spokesperson which said: "Sadly, Amy Dowden MBE will not be partaking in the rest of the competition this year. Whilst Amy focuses on her recovery following a foot injury, fellow Professional Dancer, Lauren Oakley, will step in as JB’s dance partner."
The spokesperson added: "The health and wellbeing of everyone involved in Strictly are always the utmost priority. The whole Strictly family sends Amy love and well wishes."

Following the news, it was revealed that JB is in a 'worrying position' ahead of next weekend's live show, according to Ladbrokes. Following Amy's exit from the competition, the bookies now make JB just 7/2 to be sent packing next.
Elsewhere, Shayne Ward continues to lead the betting for the boot at 6/4, while Wynne Evans is a 2/1 shot as things stand. Every other name is currently 8/1 or bigger for the boot, while Chris McCausland remains the safest name in the competition at 100/1 to leave on Sunday.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: "Shayne Ward might lead the elimination betting this week, but the latest Amy Dowden news has put JB in a dangerous position ahead of the weekend, as far as the odds are concerned."
