I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here viewers think some of the crew had 'gone home' following the first show of the 2024 series. The hit ITV reality show returned to screens on Sunday night (November 17) for its latest run

Hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly were seen back in Australia for the new series of their popular programme with the opening episode seeing 10 new famous faces heading into the iconic jungle - including WAG Coleen Rooney, Coronation Street star Alan Halsall and McFly star Danny Jones.

Joining them on the show, is Dancing on Ice judge Oti Mabuse, TikTok and Loose Women star GK Barry, N-Dubz singer Tulisa, BBC Radio 1 DJ Melvin Odoom, Loose Women panellist and journalist Jane Moore, former boxer Barry McGuigan and radio presenter Dean McCullough.

Kicking the series off with a luxurious start, five unsuspecting celebrities were seen meeting at a grand poolside villa, ready for the start of their jungle journey. Then in true I’m A Celebrity style, Ant and Dec made a grand entrance together in one of five choppers before making their way to the villa.

Meanwhile, on a gold coast sunny beach, the second batch of celebrities got ready to meet. They wasted no time in getting to know one another but they were interrupted by the sound of ringing nearby. Going to investigate, they come across an emergency lifeguard pole. Pressing the red button, they are greeted by the voices of show hosts Ant and Dec, who had a surprise for them.

Later, after facing challenges before arriving in the jungle, Barry and Danny were tasked by the first camp leaders Alan and Tulisa to take on the first trial after being chosen by their fellow contestants.

It sees them locked in padlocked cages and trying to earn stars, which equate to meals. It saw Danny earn five stars, while Barry struggled and got nothing. As a result, the camp was given their first dinner of Kangaroo hind.

But following the 105-minute I'm A Celeb opened, the spin-off show returned to ITV2 for the first time in four years with a new name and new hosts in Joel Dommett, Sam Thompson and Kemi Rodgers.

However, there's been mixed response to the first episode, with fans blasting the crew for not having a good enough time like they seemingly do with Ant and Dec on the main show.

@afterglowlovato asked: "What happened to the loud crew members who would cheer and joke around???? #unpacked #imaceleb." @jayp_28 said: "I’ve wanted the #ImACeleb extra show to return as soon as it got axed, but it’s feeling very flat. The production of Extra Camp / NOW! was perfect - just because it’s been off air doesn’t mean you need to revamp everything. Sounds as if the crew have all gone home #Unpacked."

@TomJackson31346 commented: "#unpacked #imaceleb Love that the companion show is back but somebody's made the decision to suck all the joy out of it. Bring back the crew laughing and cheering!" @d_a_v_e_m_a posted: "This spinoff show is so awkward, the crew seem to have all gone home #unpacked #imaceleb." @b3nt3ndo added: "The #ImACelebrity #Unpacked crew need to laugh and cheer more like they do on the main show, otherwise all they have is literal crickets after punchlines! #ImACeleb."
