Euston Station evacuated as controlled explosion carried out on suspect package

The station witnessed a heavy emergency service response following the alert about the suspicious item.
A Met Police spokesperson has indicated that a safety perimeter has been established as a precautionary measure, while images circulating online depict the heightened presence of emergency personnel.
Concerned commuters swiftly posted on X (formerly Twitter) about the evacuation of the station. According to a witness, "Something is going on at Euston Station; it seems like the whole area is cordoned off."

Meanwhile, other individuals noted the urgent activity, with one saying: "Just heard a massive explosion near Euston Road. Now the streets are flooded with sirens."
Another added: "Station at #euston been evacuated and cordens all over the place. Plenty of police and incident support teams. Not quite sure what's going on," reports the Mirror.
Met Police said: "We're aware of reports online about an incident in the vicinity of Euston Station. Police cordons are in place as a precaution while officers investigate a suspect package. We will provide further updates on this thread in due course."

The force addressed the frightening sounds heard by locals in the area in an updated statement, adding: "A controlled explosion has been carried out by specialist officers and the police cordons have now been lifted. Thank you for your patience."
