Ruben Amorim 'considering' Manchester United transfer swap that includes £36.5m makeweight
by Josh Holland · Manchester Evening NewsRuben Amorim has been at Manchester United for less than a week and the transfer rumour mill is already tipping the Portuguese to make his mark on the squad in January.
United are currently 13th in the Premier League after 11 matches. The four points picked up by Ruud van Nistelrooy, earlier this month, means they are within touching distance of the top-four, though.
Amorim will begin his reign at Old Trafford next weekend when they travel to Ipswich Town. The Tractor Boys will welcome United to Portman Road on a high following their first league win of the season before the international break - while they are managed by a familiar face in Kieran McKenna.

That game starts a hectic period for United before the January transfer window opens. The business conducted under Amorim is yet to come clear but speculation has intensified over him raiding his former team, Sporting CP, for a number of their key players.
Viktor Gyokeres is one name that supporters would love to see in the famous red shirt after his 66 goals in 68 games in Portugal. However, a different centre-forward has emerged on United's radar over a possible January switch, as per the rumour mill anyway.
According to reports in Italy, United are 'on the trail' for Galatasaray loanee striker Victor Osimhen. The Nigeria international is on loan in Turkey from Napoli after falling out with the Italian giants.
Italian journalist Gerard Fasano, via Football 365, has claimed that United are looking at including summer signing Joshua Zirkzee in a swap deal to bring Osimhen to Manchester. "United is said to be on the trail of Victor Osimhen," said Fasano. "Zirkzee could help [Napoli striker, Romelu] Lukaku find himself. Money plus Zirkzee for Osimhen.
"Amorim has understood that Sporting could ask too much for Gyokeres and is testing the waters for Osimhen.

"Zirkzee might not be the ideal striker for the coach. The former Bologna player would instead help Lukaku next season; the two would form an important pair. However, Juventus is also interested in Zirkzee and can count on Thiago Motta, a coach who has greatly enhanced the player [at Bologna]."
Zirkzee cost United £36.5million from Bologna in July, but the forward is yet to prove his worth. The Netherlands international has scored only one goal - the winner on his debut vs Fulham in August - and has struggled to make an impact when used.
He did sign a five-year deal at Old Trafford, but there have been calls to allow him to depart, even temporarily, to rediscover the form that convinced United to buy him.
