Antony has just told Ruben Amorim what he wants to hear amid crucial Man United decision

Ruben Amorim faces a decision over Antony's Manchester United career, but the winger's action during the international break speaks volumes.

Antony, was a request from former manager Erik ten Hag when Jadon Sancho struggled for form in his maiden season at Old Trafford. The Brazilian netted in his first game for United and gave supporters a glimpse of what was to come - or so they hoped.

Scoring three goals in his first six United appearances, it felt like the club had made the right decision by signing Antony. However, that form was short lived with the Brazilian managing just 12 goals in 87 appearances to date.

His only goal this season came in the 7-0 Carabao Cup win over Barnsley in September. Reds' supporters have been patient with the winger but he has been unable to pay that back.

With that said, Amorim could be the answer and hand the 24-year-old a new lifeline. During the Portuguese manager's first training session at Carrington on Monday, he walked the players through a 3-4-3 build-up drill.

Antony was seen operating as a right wing-back with Tyrell Malacia at left wing-back. With that said, the Brazilian could be set for a new role under Amorim ahead of United's trip to Ipswich Town on Sunday.

Off the pitch meanwhile, Antony has already begun his own preparations. Taking to Instagram, he shared a series of pictures of him training at a footballing school in Brazil. He wrote: "It's always an honour to train with you Alexandre. Together always."

After a few days in his homeland during the international break, Antony returned to Carrington taking part in Amorim's first training session this week.

Speaking during his first interview for United's media channels, Amorim explained his vision for United. "I think you will see an idea. You could like it or not, I don't know, but you will see an idea," Amorim said.

"You will see a positioning. You will see something that we want to reach that kind of level. You will feel that. We have to know that it's like two trainings before the first match. This is the best league in the world. But if I have to say something to you, [it's that] you will see an idea. This I can guarantee."

Amorim will oversee his first Premier League game in charge at Ipswich on Sunday (4:30pm).
