Roy Keane gives typical response after learning Tyson Fury hasn't seen wife Paris in months

Roy Keane offered a pragmatic view to Tyson Fury's admission that he hasn't spoken to his wife Paris for three months ahead of his world heavyweight rematch against Oleksandr Usyk on Saturday.

Fury is seeking revenge against the Ukrainian in Saudi Arabia - seven months after the Wythenshawe-born boxer was beaten in a split-decision. Although that was Fury's first defeat of his professional career, he still believes he won after edging the early rounds before Usyk rallied in the second half of the fight.

In an attempt to win the second fight against Usyk, Fury has decided to cut contact with his wife and family to try and ensure he can be as best prepared as possible. "I've not spoken to Paris for three months," Fury told TNT Sports. "Not a word, not spoke to anyone, not been on my phone, I've been away from it all."

Fury explained that he decided to chose to snub Paris and his children to focus during training camp, avoiding any shifts between "beast mode" and "Dad mode".

Former Manchester United midfielder Keane then offered his verdict on The Overlap's Stick to Football. "That's the norm in my house," Keane said. "What's the big deal with that! He's in a training camp."

Keane added: "If he wins the fight then you will say 'he has done everything right'. If he loses you would say 'what was the point not speaking to your family'"

Ex-Arsenal forward Ian Wright also defended Fury's decision. "You don't want the mentality to be cracked. When you are at the level they are at you can't have anything that brings in a weakness," Wright said.

Jamie Carragher, the former Liverpool defender, delivered his reaction. "You do 12 week camps, but I don't think they would normally be away for 12 weeks," he said. "I think the fact that he has lost the first fight he has just thought nothing is [going to distract him]."

Paris, meanwhile, reaffirmed Tyson's claim about their lack of communication. "People don't see the sacrifices made," Paris wrote in her Instagram story. "I've let him solely concentrate on this fight."

"It seems like he's been gone forever, especially with no contact," she added.
