Man United vs Crystal Palace early team news hints as transfer clue emerges before deadline day
by Matthew Abbott · Manchester Evening NewsAt least three Manchester United players have hinted at their involvement in the club's match against Crystal Palace hours before kick-off.
MEN Sportspotted as many as 18 players arriving at Old Trafford on Sunday morning. That group includes goalkeeper Elyh Harrison, who United recalled from Chester midway through a season-long loan at the National League North team earlier this month.
Alejandro Garnacho and Noussair Mazraoui were later photographed arriving, so of those involved against FCSB, all but Tom Heaton and Tyrell Malacia were present. However, the MUTV cameras did not capture the entire squad coming into the stadium, so those two could be involved again, albeit the latter at least is likely to leave the club on loan over the coming days.
From the 18 seen, Casemiro, Diogo Dalot and Leny Yoro shared posts of their Instagram stories about the match beforehand. Dalot did so on Saturday night, with the other two waiting until matchday morning.
Regarding the former Brazil international, that suggests talks United are holding to try and sell Casemiro before the transfer deadline are still some way from reaching a positive conclusion. The club have engaged several agents and touched based with multiple intermediaries to identify a possible buyer for him.
The midfielder appeared as a second-half substitute in Bucharest on Thursday night, but that was his first outing of the year. If a deal was close to being done, Casemiro could be required elsewhere to finalise a move rather than being at Old Trafford less than 48 hours before the deadline.
There are no such fears with Dalot and Yoro. The former signed a five-year deal 18 months ago, and United can extend that agreement by an additional year while Yoro is under contract until the end of the 2028/29 season after only signing last summer.
