BBC Strictly Come Dancing star says 'let's not forget' as she makes Pete Wicks claim
by Jessica Sansome · Manchester Evening NewsA former Strictly Come Dancing star has said 'let's not forget' as she made a claim about Pete Wicks' time in the competition. The podcast host and reality star is currently in training for week nine of the BBC One dance contest.
Pete made it through to another week of Strictly's 20th-anniversary series after a moving couple's choice performance last Saturday night (November 9) with dance partner Jowita Przystal.
He used the choice of routine to pay tribute to his late beloved nan, Doreen. Pete, who was visibly fighting back the tears, and Jowita went on to be praised for their "moving" performance to The Best by Nicotine Dolls, in tribute to Pete's late grandmother, with the song being used at her funeral in 2022.

It was then later confirmed during Sunday night's (November 10) results show that Pete and Jowita had made it through to week nine of the BBC One dance contest, which will see the show relocate to Blackpool for its annual special in the iconic Tower Ballroom, and they'll be performing a Cha Cha to I’m Too Sexy by Right Said Fred.
Now, Ola Jordan, who starred in the dance show as a pro dancer from 2006 to 2015 and won the Strictly Christmas special with JB in 2012, has named which contestants she thinks will shine and who might struggle in the world-famous ballroom this Saturday noght (November 16).
Speaking on behalf of Mecca Bingo, she said: "My top picks are Tasha Ghouri, JB Gill, and Sarah Hadland, she’s amazing, they're going to be good. Blackpool is always an amazing week, so everyone’s going to put on a good dance I’m sure, but I think Wynne Evans, Chris McCausland, and Jamie Borthwick are the weakest dancers left in the competition for me, Pete did such a good job this week, but Pete is still one of the weakest ones—let’s not forget that."

Ola was also asked if she thinks Pete getting his first '10' of the seires will impact his confidence and performance in the upcoming weeks and whether she thinks he could be a potential underdog due to his huge fanbase too. She said: "Maybe because of his fan base he's getting quite a few votes I reckon, he's very liked.
"He did an amazing job this week with Jowita, but couple's choice, is a bit like a free pass to the next week, because there's not really any technique, they can do whatever suits the person. If you get the Rumba, Samba, or Cha-Cha, you know where you've got heavy technique, it’s much harder to make a good dance, they still did an amazing job. But you know the next week if he gets a technical dance, it's going to be hard again. It’s going to bring him down back to Earth, it all depends on what he gets."
