'Underrated' nostalgic comedy starring Zac Efron is now streaming for free - fans say it's a 'masterpiece'
by Lucas Hill-Paul · Manchester Evening NewsA popular comedy starring Friends favourite Matthew Perry and Hollywood heartthrob Zac Efron has landed on Netflix in the UK.
The film in question is 17 Again, a cinematic gem that has captivated audiences worldwide since its premiere in 2009.
Although it received a mixed response upon its initial release, the movie has aged remarkably well and is now widely regarded as one of the most iconic teen films of the 21st Century.
The story follows Mike O'Donnell (played by Perry), a man struggling to come to terms with his impending divorce, who is given the chance to relive his teenage years when he magically transforms into his 17-year-old self (Efron).
Following the sad passing of Perry last year, fans of Friends have been re-watching episodes of the classic sitcom as a tribute - but don't miss his memorable foray into big-screen comedy now that 17 Again is available to stream at home, reports the Mirror.
A glowing review on the film-focused social media platform Letterboxd reads: "If you were to ask me about the 2009 comedy 17 Again starring Zac Efron, I'd probably say I like it.
