ITV I'm A Celebrity's Coleen Rooney 'so on brand' as fans spot 'fuming' reaction to task
by Fionnula Hainey · Manchester Evening NewsI'm A Celebrity viewers think they've spotted Coleen Rooney's 'fuming' reaction to a new task in camp.
On Thursday night's episode of the ITV show the 12 campmates were split into three teams of four, with McFly star Danny Jones, Radio 1 DJ Dean McCullough and Corrie's Alan Halsall all taking on a head-to-head bushtucker trial to win money for their teams, which they could then spend in camp.
Before being split up, the campmates were told who would be taking on the bushtucker trial - and that the rest of the campmates would be heading down to the clearing to watch them.
Realising something must be going on, Coleen immediately suggested they would be split into different teams. "I think we might be put into teams, so team Alan, team Danny and team Dean," she told her fellow celebs.
Coleen was bang on the money and when the celebrities entered the trial clearing, hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly explained that everyday essentials in camp were now going to cost money. During the Rank Bank trial, Danny, Alan and Dean had to take on challenges to win money, which would be loaded onto a cash card to make purchases.
Dean, Alan and Danny were each given a different colour cash card and the rest of the celebs had to each pick a cash card at random from a bag, with the colour determining what team they were on.
Coleen selected a pink card, meaning she was on Dean's team, along with Loose Women star Jane Moore and radio presenter Melvin Odoom.
But viewers at home noticed that Coleen seemed less than impressed with her selection. "Coleen is fuming to be on deans team," one fan wrote on X, formerly Twitter. Another said: "Coleen fuming she’s on deans team lollll."
Radio 1 star Dean has taken on several trials this series - with varying degrees of success - but his behaviour in camp, including slacking on his chores, has also been rubbing his campmates up the wrong way. Meanwhile, Jane has caused some drama by hitting out at Barry McGuigan and Danny for picking her to do the washing up, branding the pair 'sexist' and 'ageist'.
One fan wrote: "My heart goes out to poor Coleen what a team to be saddled with, Dean and Jane!!!" Another said: "The two most annoying campmates, Jane and Dean on the same team… sorry to Melvin and Coleen… but I’m not rooting for pink team."
A third added: "Coleen fuming she got pink cuz that’s deans teams which probably means no money."
Fans also pointed out how "on brand" it was for Coleen to have figured out the team twist before Ant and Dec had revealed the news. After she was previously the first one to suss out that Maura Higgins and Reverend Richard Coles had been given a secret task to pretend they were living in squalor, fans found it hilarious that she had "nailed it again" and predicted what was to come.
Fans were amazed by Coleen's skills, branding her 'Mystic Meg', with one even suggesting she should get a job with MI5. "Coleen constantly trying to work out what’s about to happen is so on brand I love her," one fan commented.
"Coleen rooney is a clairvoyant i swear," one said, while another added: "Coleen immediately figuring out it was going to be a team thing. The force is strong in Wagatha." Another added: "Coleen is like Mystic Meg."
Somebody else asked: "How does coleen work everything out so fast?". Another said: "COLEEN STRIKES AGAIN WITH SUSSING THINGS OUT!"
"The MI5 need to hire Coleen at this point," one fan suggested, while another wrote: "Coleen working out that the camp is about to get split into teams... Nothing gets past her."
Another viewer asked: "Is Wagatha Christie an exec producer on this series? Always one step ahead."
"Wagatha once again nailing it," another shared.
