Paul Pogba's four-year ban from football for doping has been reduced to 18 months by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

The former Manchester United star was handed the suspension last year after dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) was found in his system, a substance that promotes hormone production.

Pogba denied 'knowingly or deliberately taking any supplements that violate anti-doping regulations' at the time, confirming his intention to appeal. Now, CAS have reduced his ban from four years down to 18 months.

It means the French midfielder can resume training in January before being eligible to play in March. His last appearance for Juventus came in September 2023, as a substitute appearance off the bench in a 2-0 win over Empoli.

The 31-year-old left United in 2022 after six years at Old Trafford. He previously moved to Italy in 2012 after a spell in the youth team at United before his £89million move back in 2016.

He re-joined Juventus in 2022 on a free transfer upon the expiry of his contract. He has made only 12 appearances for the Italian giants since returning with injuries and his suspension holding him back.
