Donald Trump says Ali Khamenei is dead after US and Israeli strikes

by Olivia Bridge · The MirrorPresident Trump has confirmed Iran's supreme leader Ali Khamenei has been killed by US-Israeli strikes today.
Taking to his Truth Social platform, the US president said "justice" has been served following the death of the Iranian supreme leader.
Tehran has been gripped by US-Israeli missiles today, which saw Iran retaliate by firing its own strikes across the Middle East, reportedly in a bid to hit US air bases in Dubai, Bahrain and Kuwait.
He wrote: "Khamenei, one of the most evil people in history, is dead. This is not only Justice for the people of Iran, but for all Great Americans, and those people from many countries throughout the world, that have been killed or mutilated by Khamenei and his gang of bloodthirsty thugs."
The revelation comes as the POTUS appeared hesitant to confirm the rumours earlier this evening. When initially asked if Khamenei had been killed, he simply said: "We feel that is a correct story."
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appeared to be the first to declare his death. He said there are "growing signs" that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is "gone" after US and Israeli strikes.
