'I'm pals with Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy and I have one big worry about row'
With the news of Rebekah's I'm A Celebrity column, the Mirror's I'm A Celebrity columnist Nicola McLean has given her opinion on how it will all turn out
by Janine Yaqoob, Rose Hill · The MirrorBeing friends with both Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy must be more than a bit difficult - but Nicola McLean has somehow managed it and takes it in her stride.
And with the news of Rebekah's column in The Sun, Nicola has given her opinion on how it will all turn out and reckons that the backstage drama could make it the "funniest I'm A Celebrity yet". She does, however, have one small concern.
Speaking as the Mirror's I'm A Celebrity columnist, she said: "This is why I say Rebekha Vardy is unapologetically her, because I don't know anybody else who'd want to do a column writing about Coleen Rooney after all this drama. But you've got to love it. We all love a WAG drama and the fact that Becky is going to give us more for the next three weeks is utterly genius.
"I do worry though that if Coleen is doing really well, is Becky going to say she's doing well? I don't know. Wagatha is the gift that keeps on giving. Coleen going into the jungle and Rebekah commenting on it - who would have thought it? They're doing Ant and Dec's job for them.
"They're going to have so much material to work on. This could be the funniest I'm A Celebrity yet. I admire strong women and both of these girls are strong in different ways. Can't wait to see Coleen in the jungle and can't wait to see what Rebekah Vardy has got to say about it."
Nicola will be giving her verdict on I'm A Celebrity live every Monday on the Mirror's socials, with a column in next Sunday's paper.
It comes after Jamie Vardy's wife joined The Sun as a guest columnist ahead of the new season of the ITV show, starting tomorrow night. During an interview with the newspaper, she said she will be watching the reality show closely.
Rebekah also reminisced about her famous Wagatha Christie battle back in 2022 - during which she landed a £1.8million legal bill after famously losing at court. She went on to lose in court again in October this year, forcing her to pick up another hefty bill.
Recalling the retired footballer giving evidence during the libel trial two years ago, she mocked his contribution and told The Sun : "The best bit to come from Wayne’s evidence was him being likened to a ‘hot potato'. I wonder if you cut him open, if he’s all cheese and beans — because he’s defo full of s***!”
She also let rip at Coleen's sex life when asked if a camel testicle be the worst thing Coleen has ever had in her mouth. "I don’t know. You have to look at her husband for that one."
