Jadon Sancho rubs salt into Man Utd wounds moments after Tottenham thrashing

Manchester United slumped to another embarrassing result at Old Trafford after being thumped by Tottenham - and Chelsea winger Jadon Sancho made a perfectly-timed social media post

Jadon Sancho appears to be loving life at Chelsea - and made that very clear in the aftermath of Manchester United's most recent defeat.

The Red Devils turned in a rotten performance against Spurs at Old Trafford on Sunday. They got off to the worst possible start after Brennan Johnson's early opener.

Bruno Fernandes' red card made things extremely tricky before Dejan Kulusevski doubled the lead shortly after half time. Spurs rounded off an emphatic success late on through Dominic Solanke.

The reverse leaves United sitting 12th in the table - their joint-worst start in Premier League history. And it also sees the pressure crank up on Erik ten Hag, who is now on extremely thin ice.

And Sancho, who is now on-loan at Chelsea ahead of a permanent move next summer, chose to have a bit of mischief - although it remains to be seen if it was deliberate. Minutes after the full-time whistle at Old Trafford, he reposted a tweet from the Blues' official account.

It showed an image of him celebrating with teammate Cole Palmer during Chelsea's 4-2 victory against Brighton. It was also captioned with a blue heart and a smiley emoji.

Sancho has enjoyed a bright start to life since moving to Stamford Bridge. He already has three assists in as many games for Chelsea. He was also denied his first goal for the club after a tight VAR offside call.

Speaking after his positive start, he said: "Overall, I was just happy to play at Stamford Bridge for the first time as a Chelsea player. It was a great feeling and I really appreciated the reception I got from the fans.

"It was a great feeling [to get a standing ovation from the fans] and my family and friends were in the crowd for the game, so that made it extra special. I’m happy to have been able to assist for goals in recent games, I’m settling in well here and I just want to keep this momentum going and keep being able to assist my team-mates. Or even get a first goal, that would be nice!"

Sancho will next be back in action in midweek as Chelsea do battle with Gent in the Europa Conference League. They then entertain Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge.

Meanwhile, his former boss Ten Hag faces a huge week as he fights to keep his job. United take on Porto in midweek ahead of next weekend's showdown with Aston Villa.
