Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has confirmed that its spokesperson was killed in overnight strikes conducted jointly by the United States and Israel, marking the latest in a series of high-profile assassinations of senior officials since the conflict began.
Ali Mohammad Naini, 68, who had served as the IRGC’s spokesman since 2024, “was martyred in the criminal cowardly terrorist attack by the American-Zionist side at dawn,” the IRGC said in a statement released on Friday.
His death came just hours after Naini appeared on national television, where he reaffirmed that Iran retained full missile production capabilities even under wartime conditions.
