Maya Jama has teased that she wants a former couple from Love Island to reunite after more than six years apart.

The TV presenter, 30, has shared her hopes for the second series of spin-off All Stars ahead of its launch on ITV2 next week. The line-up for the new series includes exes Marcel Somerville, 39, and Gabby Allen, 32, who broke up in 2018.

They had met on the third series of Love Island in 2017, which Maya describes as "one of her favourites". Marcel and Gabby reached the final together, but placed fourth - with Amber Davies and Kem Cetinay named the winners. Marcel and Gabby continued their romance outside the villa but split after he cheated on her during a romantic holiday following a series of rows.

Despite the break-up, Maya admits she's still rooting for them and hopes they can reconcile. She told the Mirror: "I have to be neutral, but I am very excited about Gabby and Marcel. Just because when I was watching that series I was hooked into everything about their relationship. Now I've followed them on the outside I think that would be kind of cute or just to see who they do end up with. I think Marcel is such a cutie."

Ahead of coming face-to-face with her ex Marcel in the All Stars villa in South Africa, Gabby revealed that she hasn't spoke to him in six years. She told us: "Things did end quite badly. I think it's more it just really knocked my trust because you know not only was it a cheating situation, but how it happened like the circumstances was just wild you know.

"We haven't spoken for six years so I feel like there would be if he was to go in the villa there would be conversations to be had I suppose but I wish them all best and I I hope that we could like find some sort of like common ground to you know move forward and not look backwards."

Gabby added that it was "a long time ago" though and said that there are "literally no hard feelings". She went on to say: "I feel like if I saw him, I'd actually be like I feel like we could be friends because we were good friends like and that's why we lasted for so long anyway. As I said, it was a long time ago, but um I feel like I built myself back up after that, you know, I've I feel like I've got my trust back in men. But you never know."
