It was reported today that Hackman had sadly been found dead in his home, alongside his wife, Betsy Arakawa, and their dog. However, according to Santa Fe County Sheriff Adan Mendoza, the deaths are not believed to be the result of foul play.
Sheriff Mendoza did not disclose the cause of death or the time they occurred but clarified to the local community that there was "no immediate danger" to others and they were in the "middle of a preliminary death investigation".
The celebrated actor and novelist had a movie career from 1964's Lilith to his role as Monroe Cole in Welcome to Mooseport in 2004. He's picked up more than 30 awards, including two Oscars, two BAFTAS, and four Golden Globes.
