NASA Artemis 2 moon mission faces huge DELAY after 'liquid hydrogen leak'
NASA's Artemis 2 moon mission has been delayed following a 'liquid hydrogen leak' - this is a breaking story
by Eliana Nunes · The MirrorThe NASA Artemis 2 moon mission has been delayed after a test run uncovered a major problem.
Teams spotted a "liquid hydrogen leak" at a core stage interface during tanking while carrying out a wet dress rehearsal on Tuesday. While the core stage and interim cryogenic propulsion stage tanks were successfully filled, the test was halted during the final countdown, around five minutes before launch, "due to an increased leak rate", a statement from NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman said.
The space agency is now aiming for March for the earliest possible launch of Artemis 2. Agency leaders are due to discuss initial results from the wet dress rehearsal during a news conference at 1pm on Tuesday.
