Reality TV star Charlotte Chilton made a subtle statement on social media after Conor Maynard dropped his shocking DNA bombshell.

The 32-year-old, who shot to fame on series two of The Traitors last year, stunned fans when she announced the Stitches hitmaker, 32, was the father of her baby daughter Penelope. Charlotte and Conor were introduced at the hit BBC show’s wrap party by Harry Clark, who won The Traitors in early 2024, as he is in a relationship with the singer’s sister Anna.

Conor has insisted he isn’t Penelope’s father, and the Can’t Say No singer put an end to the speculation by taking a paternity test, which confirmed he is not her dad. He took to Instagram to share the news with his fans, as he wished Charlotte well, and reminded his followers that there was “a child at the heart of all this”.

“Earlier this week, I took a paternity test regarding Charlotte Chilton's baby girl, Penelope, in the presence of her legal representative,” he said in a statement posted on his Instagram Story on Friday. “Today I’ve received the test results which confirm that I am not Penelope's father. I am glad that the speculation can finally be put to an end.”

He continued: “All I would ask is that people act with kindness in response to this news – there is a child at the heart of all of this and that should not be forgotten. I wish Charlotte and her family all the best.” While the reality star has yet to comment on Conor’s revelation, she has taken steps to protect herself from the vicious abuse she has already received on social media.

Charlotte has now restricted followers from leaving comments on her posts. However, the reality star is still being targeted by bullies, with one cruelly writing on her post announcing Penelope’s birth: “Sad that you don’t even know the real father of that baby girl. She deserves to know.” While another online troll added: “YOU HAVE GOT A LOT OF Apologising to do!”

Her fans were quick to defend her in the comments, with one fuming follower writing: “He said to act in kindness and y’all are doing the exact opposite. Who are you to act all high and mighty as if you’ve never been wrong before. Shame on you. Go touch grass and leave this new mama and her baby alone.”

She’s so far refused to comment on Conor’s shocking statement, but just hours before he revealed he wasn’t Penelope’s father, she shared a cute snap of her daughter asleep on Instagram Stories. “When she finally naps,” Charlotte captioned the photo, which showed her celebrating next to her gorgeous baby girl.

Charlotte spoke about her “miracle” pregnancy last year, as she revealed she underwent IVF while with her now-estranged wife Laura. She believed she was infertile before falling pregnant, and previously criticised Conor for failing to be involved in Penelope’s life. “She is not a dirty secret, and I won’t be silenced,” Charlotte fumed.
