Everything you need to know about Liverpool vs Wolves

  1. Liverpool host Wolves at Anfield on Saturday, December 27. Kick-off is at 3pm UK time.
  2. Supporters in the UK will be unable to watch the fixture live on television. The reason is the long-standing 3pm Saturday broadcasting blackout, which prevents matches from being aired to safeguard attendance at stadiums.
  3. With no live TV coverage available, there will also be no official live streaming option for viewers based in the UK. Fans can instead keep up with the match through live radio commentary on the Liverpool FC app, LFCTV, or via BBC Radio 5 Live.
  4. While unavailable to UK audiences, the match will be broadcast internationally. Viewers can tune in through NBC Sports in the United States, JioHotstar across India, and Stan Sport in Australia.
  5. UK fans will still be able to catch up on the key moments shortly after full-time, with short-form highlights released on Liverpool’s official website and YouTube channel at 7pm, and the Sky Sports Premier League YouTube channel also offering a bitesize highlights package. In addition, BBC One's Match of the Day will air extended highlights during its 10:30pm broadcast.
  6. Liverpool come into the game having rediscovered form with consecutive victories over Tottenham and Brighton, easing recent scrutiny on head coach Arne Slot. Those results leave them sitting sixth in the Premier League after Manchester United moved above them by beating Newcastle on Boxing Day.
  7. A win for Liverpool would lift them into fourth place, although they would slip back to fifth if Chelsea defeat Aston Villa later in the evening. Even a draw would be enough to take them into fourth, with Liverpool, United and Chelsea all currently tied on 29 points.
  8. Wolves travel to Anfield anchored to the foot of the Premier League standings, having collected just two points from 17 outings. Their situation has worsened with a run of 10 straight league defeats heading into this fixture.
  9. Whatever the result, Wolves will remain in 20th place. A win, however could reduce the gap between them and safety to 14 points.
  10. Recent history strongly favours Liverpool, who have emerged victorious in each of their last five meetings with Wolves. Overall, the Reds have claimed 13 wins from the last 15 clashes between the two teams dating back to 2019.
  11. When the sides last faced one another in February, Liverpool ran out 2-1 winners at Anfield. Wolves’ most recent success in this matchup was an unexpected 3-0 triumph in February 2023.
  12. Liverpool will have to cope without a number of influential players for the encounter. Mohamed Salah is away on AFCON duty, Alexander Isak remains sidelined through injury, and Dominik Szoboszlai is suspended after receiving his fifth yellow card against Tottenham.
  13. Wolves are also missing several key players due to injury and AFCON participation. Emmanuel Agbadou, Tawanda Chirewa, Daniel Bentley and Marshall Munetsi are all confirmed absentees, while several others are doubts after picking up knocks in recent weeks.
  14. Diogo Jota's sons are set to act as mascots for Liverpool ahead of kick-off. The club will also hold a pre-match tribute honouring the late footballer, who represented both teams.
