Strictly Come Dancing's Jamie Borthwick 'spotted with mystery woman' after co-star romance rumours

EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick is currently competing on the 2024 series of Strictly Come Dancing alongside pro partner Michelle Tsiakkas

Strictly Come Dancing's Jamie Borthwick has been seen going back to a hotel with a mystery woman after what appeared to be a dinner date.

The EastEnders star was spotted out and about dining with a stunning blonde woman. The actor was seen wearing a grey sweatshirt and tracksuit bottoms and he ordered a drink alongside the lady.

Meanwhile, she wore an all black sports wear outfit along with trainers, in pictures obtained by The Sun. The sighting comes after Jamie spoke about not needing to go on a sex ban while he competed in the BBC show. He explained that he wouldn't be banning anything from his usual routine as he trained for the dancefloor.

Speaking about entering the competition show, Jamie said: "No booze ban for me. I've never drunk ever in my life and no one loves me, so I can't do a sex ban! No bans for me, just loads of food."

The new romance rumours come as it was speculated that Jamie was romantically involved with his EastEnders co-star Jazzy Phoenix. The pair are often seen on each other's social media as well as Jazzy playing Jay's love interest Nadine Keller before her exit in May.

However, some Strictly viewers also think that Jamie may have a spark with his professional partner Michelle Tsiakkas. But he has refused that he has been struck by the Strictly curse, saying "nobody has to worry".

Fans noticed the chemistry between him and Michelle, but the actor quickly dispelled any chance of romance as he revealed she actually "mothers" him. He told The Mirror: "The idea of that whole Strictly curse, well it's definitely not going to be a thing here because it would be weird doing that with my sister. Michelle and I met before Strictly and we instantly had a connection. But she is like a sister, an aunt, a mum, a best friend. She's looking after me, she's mothering me."

Jamie plays the role of Jay Brown on EastEnders which he has done since 2006. He revealed that at the start of Strictly that he had no plans to stop filming the soap. "I'm not taking a break. I'm still there, so I'm doing both shows," he said. "But we're lucky [that] EastEnders [is] literally just over the road. I [don't have] far to go."

This means that Jamie has also had to give up any of his free time. "I’m still there, powering through, I’ve just kind of budgeted for the next however long I’m going to be really busy, and I’ve just had to let all the social events go, gutted that I can’t go out every week," he shared. "But I'm used to it all, really," he added. "I've been doing it a long time. So there's nothing that scares me."
