Sydney armed cops have swooped to arrest at least seven people accused of planning fresh violence in a daring operation that saw them ram a car to apprehend the suspects.

Counter-terror police wearing camo uniforms and armed with guns can be seen arresting and handcuffing the men in new footage. A police Land Cruiser was reportedly used to ram a white Hyundai carrying some of the men as police with shotguns and other weapons poured out into the street.

The men were seen lying on the tarmac with their hands cuffed after police intercepted the vehicle at an intersection in the Liverpool area of South Western Sydney, Australia.

“A police operation is underway on George Street, Liverpool," a police statement read. “There is no ongoing risk to the community. Further information will be available later today.”

The arrests came after New South Wales police received intelligence that the individuals were planning to go to Bondi Beach after having travelled from Melbourne, according to local media reports.
