Strictly's Wynne Evans dealt huge blow just hours before Blackpool show
Strictly Come Dancing Wynne Evans is the favourite to be eliminated from the BBC show this weekend at Blackpool Tower according to former professional dancer Ola Jordan
by Lucretia Munro · The MirrorStrictly Come Dancing star Wynne Evans may be at risk of elimination from the BBC show, according to former professional dancer Ola Jordan.
The 52 year old singer, famous for the Go Compare adverts, has managed to stave off elimination for weeks but now, as the celebrities take to the dance floor at Blackpool Tower, it seems he could face the bottom two. In a recent interview Ola said: "I think Wynne and Montell will be in the bottom two this weekend, or Wynne and possibly Jamie."
Speaking to Mecca Bingo, the former Strictly star continued: "I don’t think Pete Wicks will be in the bottom two yet, but he’s got a tricky dance so he might not do that well. I’m still thinking he’s going to get votes though so for me, Wynne and Montell or Wynne and Jamie will be in the bottom two this weekend."
Earlier this week, Wynne cancelled his performance on It Takes Two at the last minute, leaving viewers speculating the reason behind his sudden decision. It wasn't that long ago the TV star was embroiled in conflict after it was noticed that his professional dance partner Katya Jones, awkwardly removed his hand from her waist. At the time, fans believed that their union was facing huge tension behind the scenes. But the dancing duo were keen to dismiss rumours, claiming that it was an inside joke.
The BBC spin-off show host Janette Manrara addressed the sudden change in the guest schedule as she said: "If you've got any questions like, 'Why are Chris and Dianne on when yesterday we said it was going to be Wynne and Katya?' It's live TV, guys. You've got to roll with it, alright? Just roll with it."
No explanation was provided for his absence but Wynne took to social media ahead of his Blackpool performance. The TV star shared with fans on Wednesday that he was already in the city preparing for tonight's live show. In one clip re-posted form Katya's social media account, Wynne is seen sat on the sofa sipping from a Tottenham themed mug. Katya then asked "why?", to which he responded: "Because I support Spurs."
He then showed fans a night time image of Blackpool in lights as he wrote across the image: "We're in town." Last weekend, Wynne's future on the show was left hanging in the balance when he ended up in the bottom two and faced the dance off against Shayne Ward. Shayne was sent home after head judge Shirley Ballas was left with the deciding vote. Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse voted to save Shayne, while Anton Du Beke opted to save Wynne.
