Widespread worker dissatisfaction is costing the UK economy billions, according to a new report.

A survey involving over 2,000 adults indicated that workers say they lose more than seven hours a month if they are unhappy or dissatisfied at work. Key Issues include burnout and slow employer responses to problems.

The technology firm SafetyCulture's survey found that three out of four respondents complained about issues like unreasonable expectations, burnout, or pressure to cut corners to save money. Alex Brooks-Sykes from SafetyCulture stated: "The potential cost of dissatisfied workers is worrying for businesses and for the UK."

He added: "Employers may see a certain amount of worker dissatisfaction as inevitable, but our report highlights important steps they can take."

He further noted: "Some workers are frustrated because workplace issues and risks aren’t being dealt with fast enough. These health, safety and quality issues are something employers should address right away. Other workers say they lack the right tools or resources, which again can be resolved with the right investments."

The report alleges that billions are being lost due to the impact of dissatisfaction at work.
