The parents of Kyle Clifford, who has today pleaded guilty to triple murder, have been cursed with two killer sons - as his brother is a convicted murderer serving life behind bars.

Clifford, 27, has admitted to the murder of Carol Hunt, 61, and her daughters, Louise, 25, and Hannah, 28. Last July, the three women were brutally murdered at their family home in Bushey, Hertfordshire. Carol, who was the wife of BBC commentator John Hunt, died from stab wounds to her chest and abdomen, while their daughters died from crossbow bolt injuries.

A manhunt ensued to find security guard Clifford, who was captured on CCTV fleeing the scene with a crossbow. During a hearing at Cambridge Crown Court today, Clifford admitted to possession of a 10-inch butcher's knife and crossbow.

Clifford was previously in a relationship with Louise, and shortly before the triple murder, she is said to have ended it. According to a neighbour, dog grooming business owner Louise was left so shaken by the split that she crashed her car in the week before her tragic death. Glyn Nicholas, 77, told Mail Online that Louise was "very upset about it".

Before her murder, Louise reposted a message on social media platform X, praising 'women who leave'. It said it 'takes a lot of strength to break a tie'. One of Louise's friends told the Mail that Clifford put on a 'nice guy' act but had been controlling her and "used to ridicule Louise". She said there were "red flags" in the relationship.

"It was certain things like Louise used to like wearing make-up but then she stopped wearing make-up - and that was down to Kyle," the friend said. She added that people were "relieved" when the couple split, and while there hadn't been any known previous incidences of violence towards Louise, Clifford "imposed himself on her".

Clifford grew up in Enfield, and a local said he had "always seemed pretty normal". Speaking to Sky News after the attack last year, the woman who grew up in the area said he had seemed a "nice guy" and there were no known instances of aggression.

He is believed to have worked as a private security guard and briefly served in the British Army before leaving the service in 2022. It is later said he pursued a different career in the Household Calvary Regiment after passing out and struggling to adapt to the disciplined lifestyle.

Clifford's former boss told The Sun: "Clifford joined the Army in 2019 and I was his Troop Commander from Basic Training. He struggled to grasp basic military concepts but managed to reach the standard to pass out from training. After passing out he joined the Household Cavalry Regiment but I'm unsure how his career developed from there. I hear he was working in private security so that would indicate that he is no longer in the military."

The Ministry of Defence previously confirmed that he had served briefly in the Armed Forces. A Whitehall source said: "He didn't serve very long and he is no longer a serving member of the armed forces. We're not going to speculate which regiment or unit he was in, but look at his age. He didn't serve very long."

Clifford's parents have been described as "lovely" by a neighbour. The retired teacher spoke to the Mirror after posting a letter to the family. She said: "This is so tragic because his parents are lovely, genuine people. Kyle's father often cuts my grass and checks I'm OK - they are good people and don't deserve this. Some locals have been abusive towards them since the incident which is devastating."

However, his brother, Bradley Clifford, is serving a life sentence for murder. Clifford, 30, ran down Jahshua Francis, 19, and 18-year-old Sobhan Khan in his Ford Mustang after they hit his car with a bottle on August 5, 2017. The two were behind the wheel of a moped and were flung into the air by the crash. Bradley then beat Mr Khan as he lay on the ground, punching him hard nine times.

The teenager later died and his post-mortem gave his cause of death as multiple injuries. Mr Francis was rushed to hospital and recovered from his injuries. During the trial, the jury was told how Bradley became "enraged" when his Mustang EcoBoost's wing mirror was broken, beginning a "rapid, brutal and unrelenting" chase through the streets of north London.

He was found guilty of murder and attempted GBH with intent. He was given a life sentence with a minimum term of 23 years for the murder of Mr Khan and seven years for the attack on Mr Francis. Residents of Enfield have said Clifford was close to his older brother and was devastated by his conviction.

In a statement, Mr Khan's family said: "Soban was taken from us at the tender age of 18 years old. He was known as a great son, great brother and a key family member. We will never recover from the grief and loss of such a loving, strong, enthusiastic and talented young man."
